The basic courses 1 and 2, each comprising 18 teaching units, must be completed in order to obtain recognition as a K-Taping therapist. In the first basic course, students are taught the theoretical principles, how to handle the tape and any contraindications. Course participants then learn the four K-Taping application techniques, which are practiced separately based on a wide range of practice-orientated clinical pictures. The aim is to deepen knowledge and enable faultless application of the individual techniques. In the second basic course the theoretical principles behind the combination rules (a combination of individual application techniques according to clinical picture) are taught. Participants then go on to learn which techniques can be combined and in which order these are to be carried out depending on the clinical picture. These techniques are also practiced during course 2, based on a multitude of clinically relevant indications. Certificate holders therefore have an opportunity to apply the techniques directly in daily therapy.

The K-Taping Academy offers specialist courses which build on the knowledge gained in courses 1 and 2. For example, the lymphatic correction taping course which aims to specifically aid manual lymphatic drainage and lymph flow. The lymphatic correction taping course is conducted following completion of course 2 and comprises 4 teaching units. Course participants learn and practise techniques for particular areas of the body with intact and defective lymph node chains, integration in treatment concepts and including possible applications in competitive sport.

Special courses are available for specific medical groups or indications. Previous completion of the basic courses is not necessary since the course theory and practice are tailored to the specific area of therapy. Participants receive training related to their topic. Special courses are currently being offered, for example in the areas of gynaecology and pregnancy support, application in competitive sport and a separate lymphatic taping course designed for lymphatic therapists. The K-Taping training, including advanced and special courses, can also be conducted in-house if participant numbers are high enough.
